Daciquiri aka Dac is the baby of the family. She was born in fall of 2013. I had two cats already and didn’t really want another one, but I fell in love with her. She also had a stump of a tail and I have always loved unique cats. In October I smuggled her home so nobody would know I had acquired my third cat. It took a while, but eventually my other cats started “tolerating” her (I can’t say they love her because of her massive amounts of energy).
Dac is an energize bunny, a busy beaver, a momma’s cat (can’t be out of my sight for long periods of time), a cuddler, and is very inquisitive. If I need a laugh Dac can make me laugh. She also loves to carry things in her mouth and can basically just flop any which way and fall asleep.
Java was the second one to enter the family. She was born in spring of 2012. I decided to get her because Eddie was home alone a lot and I thought he needed a playmate. Java and Eddie are brother and sister. They were born to a wild cat my parents have on their yard. She was named Java because I love coffee. The other name I considered was Bella, but Edward and Bella, didn’t sound right.
Java is a diva and a goody-two shoes. She rarely jumps on the counters and is over-all a nice cat. Java has either a very snooty look or she looks very confused. She is also very skittish, which is kind of funny because her mom’s name is Scaredy Cat (one of my parent’s wild cats). When the doorbell rings she dives under the bed and won’t move until the person has left. She also needs her alone time and can be aloof at times. She’s not really cuddly, unless I’m in the bathroom and than she is super cuddly. She also has grand plans to escape one day. When ever I come home she is sitting in the window and than when I open the door she tries to run out.
Edward aka Eddie aka Edward the Turd (Edward the Third) aka Edturd. He was my first cat. I decided to adopt him in a split second. I didn’t put much thought into it. He belonged to one of my parent’s wild cats and I thought she might move the kittens so I snatched him. I wanted him so badly because he looked like a Siamese cat. I took him at around three weeks (not recommended) and bottle feed him and was his mom. Now that he is all grown up he is a BLACK cat (roll my eyes :)).
Eddie likes to explore and has a super long tail. He is also a very laid back cat. He also likes to nurse/suck. I don’t mind it and allow it. When my sister comes over he nurses in her armpits. He’s far more cuddly than Java, but less than Dac. He also needs his litter box super clean or ELSE.
I’ve been blogging for a year now. While, to be totally honest, I guess its been more like six-months. With all my laptop issues and my summers being crazy (a 4 acre garden/pumpkin patch and canning 1000 jars) posting posts has been hard. But my new year’s resolution is to post every Mon-Wed-Fri so……………
My worst fear is one day having no cats living with me. My family doesn’t understand why I have three cats and are against me getting a fourth one. Good thing I live alone and rarely have company over so I can add cats without people knowing. Now I’m not crazy and attempting to try to break records, like where someone had 125 cats. I have nosy neighbors who keep tabs on how many cats I have, lol. They walk past by my window and see my three cats looking out the window and when I added Dac my neighbors all inquired about her (not having a normal tail makes you kind of odd). I’m thinking 4 or 5 cats would be a nice number. I didn’t get a new kitten in 2014 because Dac is CRAZY and a handful. There was one kitten, this year on the farm, who I really wanted, but resisted taking home. In 2015 we’ll see what happens. I always get my kittens from the farm and I don’t go to cat shelters because I would want to take everyone of them home.
I’m the human of the family. I’m a huge lover of all animals, except rodents. I have three cats so far (there may be more in the future). I don’t own a dog, but plans are for one to join the family in the far far future.
I love cats and I love looking at cat pictures. That is the reason why I started this blog and because I haven’t found a good site that has cute pictures of cats without annoying captions or poor grammar or English written on the pictures. Sometimes captions make the picture funny and sometimes it distracts from the picture. I also love taking pictures and have hundreds of pictures of my cats.
I have a scientific background and I find computers aren’t my friend. Same can be said for my camera. I use my windows phone and a canon to take my pictures. Some pictures turn out wonderfully and some are just terrible. I also have been told I have a weird or unique writing style. Same can be said for my sense of humor. You either like my writing style and humor or you detest it :). My dad’s worse nightmare was reading and correcting my English assignments in High School and essay’s in University.
Beside cats I love to garden, can (pickles, relishes, jams, and jellies), go to farmers’ markets, make handmade cards, and I’m just learning how to sew. I also love watching T.V. and googling things on the internet.
