Dac has a fascination with the toilet and she loves watching when I flush the toilet. Normally I wait til she jumps off and close the lid, other times I leave the lid open.
I went into the bathroom to wash my hands and Dac jumped onto the toilet and I heard a kerplunk and a splash. Yup the lid was open. I chased after her with a towel and tried to dry her off the best I could and contain my laughter. Luckily it was only her back legs and tail that were wet. And no she hasn’t learned to avoid the toilet, she still loves it.
The other day I went to use the toilet and she had dropped my toothpaste into the toilet. I fished it out with the toilet brush and promptly threw it out.
Mom’s head was a spinning with ideas to do with Earth (har har: spinning and earth. I hope it isn’t spinning too fast). When mom thinks of earth she thinks of DIRT. It was earth day on Wednesday, April 22, hence the theme of Earth. I’m still going with the idea of DIRT, lol. My cats are only allowed outside on a halter and Eddie and Java hate it. Dac loves it, but she is a bit of a monkey and being on a second floor balcony is a bit dangerous.
Travel and Cats!!! Nope they don’t mix. Java and Eddie actually have gone on a vacation with me, once, to the lake. They were kittens and I couldn’t bear to spend a couple of nights without them so they came to the lake. Dac hasn’t been so lucky as the longest trip she’s been on is six miles: farm to her furever home.
On Instagram there is a group called Daily Category. Every once in a while the cats take pretend trips on the weekends. So far my cats have been to the Swiss Alps, Paris, Africa, and now they are in Fiji. It’s a lot of fun and some of the editing is amazing. If you’re on instagran check out username: Daily_Category.
The human on the other hand loves to travel. I’ve been to Panama, Ecuador, Germany, South Africa, and all over the US and Canada. My next trip I want to take is to Las Vegas and then spend two nights at the Grand Canyon. I want to eventually visit all the States and Provinces. I haven’t done any traveling since I got my cats (life sometimes throws you some wicked curve balls) so I’m not sure how that is going to work. My cats will stay at home, but who to look after them, that’s the question, lol.
I’m a bit of a hypochondriac and I’m a paranoid mother. When ever my cats being to act a little abnormal I panic. I have come up with a list to know whether I need to go to the vet or not.
Is my cat sick:
Has my cat not eaten within the last 24 hours?
Has my cat stopped drinking?
Is my cat hiding? (this is normal behavior for my cats, but I know what abnormal hiding is).
How’s elimination? (This can be hard with multiple cats. I’m use to studying poop because of my job so I know what each cat has done in the litter box, lol).
Are my cats sleeping all the time? (Again you really have to know your cat to figure this one out. My two oldest aren’t that active, but Dac is. If Dac stopped playing, I would be very concerned).
I take all these things into consideration before I make the decision to head to the vet. Luckily (knock on wood, I’m not superstitious, but sort of, lol) I haven’t had to take my cats to the vet for anything serious.
If you cat is having seizures, having trouble breathing, unconscious, or ingested something poisonous head to the vet ASAP.
Allen is one of my parents farm cats and is spoiled. He is the only one allowed into the greenhouse and he loves it in there. He rarely lies on plants or destroys stuff. I occasionally find him rolling in the catnip or sleeping on the onion plants. He than gets a shot of water and I pick a few catnip leaves for him and carry him to a more appropriate place to lie and roll in catnip.
